Cancellation charges may be incurred if deliveries are cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice. If a delivery has been dispatched and subsequently cancelled ‘on-route’ then a charge for both the value of the load and a returned material charge of £120 per m3 will be applied.
Our advice is not to lay concrete when the temperature is less than 5 degrees centigrade. Also please be aware that if the weather is particularly hot or windy this can affect both the consistence/slump of the concrete and will cause it to cure much quicker than normal, which can lead to cracking, if not properly handled on site.
When orders are placed please advise if you think extra time may be required to unload. If we are aware of this then we can plan the extra time in accordingly. If we are un-aware then the driver my not be able to wait on site.
It is always good site practice to have either some heavy duty plastic sheeting or boarding down where you intend to discharge the concrete to protect the area. Also, when fully loaded an 8m3 concrete mixer truck weighs circa 32 Tonnes so again be mindful where you are thinking about discharging the trucks.
Unloading by a wheelbarrow varies depending on how many people are on site, how experienced the layers are and how many wheelbarrows are available. It takes approx. 20 wheelbarrow loads per m3.
Please bear in mind waiting time charges may apply over the inclusive time
We aim to deliver your concrete at the time requested however due to delays being possible on previous sites we cannot always guarantee times. If we are due to be more than an half an hour late for your delivery then we will contact you to advise of the delay. Time slots of 1 hour are given to reduce the risk of late deliveries.
We will do our best to ascertain your volume requirements however dimensions, especially your depth measurements, will have an impact on the actual volume required.
If you order too much concrete then it will need to be disposed of somewhere on site. If this is not possible it can be returned to the plant however this is charged at £120 per m3 with a minimum charge of 1m3.
Orders can be amended / cancelled, e.g. mix, increase in quantity, up to the point of batching the concrete. Please note that concrete must be cancelled a minimum of 24 hours prior to delivery, if a delivery is cancelled after this time then a charge may be incurred. This is due to cancellations affecting the scheduling for the day as we may not then be able to fill the timeslot with another delivery.
